Guatemala volcano eruption: Are flights cancelled? Is the airport open?

THE GUATEMALA volcano eruption has killed over 60 people since it erupted yesterday. Many more have been injured with thousands evacuated while emergency rescue services are underway, despite the conditions making it difficult to retrieve and identify the victims.

The Guatemalan volcano, Volcan de Fuego, has erupted for the second time this year.

At least 69 people have been killed, with many more injured and over 3,200 people evacuated.

Scenes of the area show huge flows of lava and mud flowing through the mountains and valleys, while an ash cloud rises into the air.
