There’s something mysterious and a little romantic about the idea of traveling the world by train. Unlike a flight, traveling by train takes time, allowing passengers the space and time to witness the journey.

Railbookers, an independent rail vacation company, has announced the ultimate rail adventure: a 55-day journey that takes travelers across four continents, five national parks, and to over 20 iconic cities. The Around the World by Rail package takes passengers to sites like the Great Wall of China, the Red Square in Moscow, and a night in a traditional yurt in Mongolia. The trip includes several sightseeing tours, skip-the-line access to landmarks, and 52 meals, but does not include the three flights needed to hop between certain destinations. Prices for the Around the World by Rail package start at around $20,500 per person.

“For many travelers, it takes a lifetime to experience a journey like this one. But when they join Railbookers, all it takes is a single train vacation,” John Vavrina, vice president of sales for Railbookers, told TravelPulse. “It is undoubtedly the ultimate bucket list trip to some of the great wonders of the world. We’ve all seen around the world by private jet and cruise ship, but to truly capture the essence of a destination and its diverse landscapes, nothing beats traveling by rail.”
