'Sudden and severe' turbulence wreaks havoc on Emirates flight from Auckland.


A Kiwi woman's legs were bruised in bad turbulence
on an Emirates flight from Auckland to Dubai.

Passengers were left vomiting, and some with minor injuries following severe turbulence on a recent Emirates flight from Auckland to Dubai.

The "sudden and severe turbulence" left the business class cabin in tatters with Champagne bottles on the floor, food carts overturned, and even a fallen exit sign.

Flight EK449 departed Auckland International Airport on July 10 and encountered "sudden and severe turbulence during the flight, about 3 hours before its scheduled arrival in Dubai," an Emirates spokesperson confirmed to Stuff

"Unfortunately a few passengers and crew suffered minor injuries during this incident. First aid was administered and medical assistance was arranged for those who needed it on arrival.
