This island has been voted the best in the world.

We foresee some serious upgrading of holiday spam

Holiday spam is already in full swing and we're not even at August yet. Our timelines are full of dreamy-looking beach setups, sun-kissed pool shots and a myriad #Sundayblues hashtags underneath a smug snap of a far-flung destination. Everyone thinks that their holiday hotspot is superior but there is now island in particular that has claimed this crown for itself.

Siargao in the Philippines has just been voted the best island in the world by Conde Nast Traveler readers, and for good reason too.

Just a quick look at photos reveals gorgeous white sand beaches and peaceful forests with a remote, unspoiled vibe. It only has a population of 200,000 and isn't high on tourist's hit lists (weirdly!) so is the ideal place to immerse yourself in authentic, island culture.
